Sports Event Makeup: Team Spirit with Style

Alright, so you’re headed to a sports event, and of course, you want your look to slay while repping your team’s spirit. Let’s be real—sports events = hot, sweaty, and loud, but that doesn’t mean your makeup game can’t be on point. You want to show off that team pride while keeping it cute and fierce, right? In today’s tutorial, I’m gonna walk you through the perfect makeup look for game day that’ll last through all the shouting, cheering, and, let’s face it, eating too many nachos 🙈.

Step 1: Prep That Skin (Because Sweat Happens 😅)

Okay, first things first: Before putting any makeup on, you’ve got to make sure your skin is prepped. The last thing you need during a sports event is makeup melting off, so start with a primer that’ll control the oil and keep your makeup where it needs to be—on your face, duh!

You can’t go wrong with something like Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer because that stuff will make your makeup grip, stick, and just stay. This primer is basically like Velcro for your foundation.👌

But don’t forget to moisturize beforehand because hydration is key, even if you’re going to be out in the sun for hours. Go for a lightweight moisturizer like Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel, which doesn’t feel too heavy and won’t clog your pores.

And finally, finishing this step with some SPF because girl, who wants sunburn, right?! Trust me, I learned that the hard way. Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 is perfect because it doesn’t leave your skin greasy or give that annoying white cast.

Step 2: Foundation & Concealer That Won’t Fade 🏃‍♀️

Next up is choosing the right foundation for the event. It’s all about choosing something that is going to stick throughout the day, from the first whistle to the last buzzer. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup is literally my ride-or-die for events like these because it does not budge. Even if the heat thinks it’s going to make your foundation slip, nah, not today. 💁‍♀️

Now, for concealer, we need something that’s not gonna crease, especially after all that yelling at bad referee calls (#RelatableAfterAll). Tarte Shape Tape Concealer gets the job done—it’s full coverage without feeling like spackle on your face.

Lock it ALL in with some light translucent powder like Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, because keeping shine under control is gonna be the difference between fresh-faced and that dreaded greasy glow. 😂

Step 3: Team Spirit Eyeshadow 🎨🔥

Now for the fun part—the eyeshadow! Here’s where you can show all the team pride without going over the top (but, hey, if you wanna go extra, I support you 💁‍♀️).

Step one: Pick the color that matches your team. If your team’s colors are blue and white, grab both shades. If they’re red and black, you know the drill. Go for super pigmented eyeshadows like those in the Morphe 35B Color Burst Artistry Palette—this palette has every color under the sun, so team colors? Nailed.

For a simple and clean pop of color, go with something like:

  • Primary color on the lid (if you’re a Rams fan, that means the blue gets center stage).
  • Accent color on the lower lash line (for ya Rams peeps, that would be yellow).

If you’re feeling bold and pulled an extra shot of espresso this morning, go for a team logo-inspired cut crease. Ohhhh yeah, we’re doing THAT much. 🙌

Here’s a tip: use tape! Place a bit at the corner of your eye to get that clean, straight edge when you blend.

To intensify the eye look (and why not make it sparkle?), try adding some glitter eyeshadow. My fav is Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow—go wild with golds or silvers that go with nearly ANY team.

Step 4: Snatched Brows & Sweat-Proof Lashes 💁‍♀️💥

Eyebrows on fleek? Always. Use a pencil like Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz to outline and fill in your brows—try to keep it natural because overdone brows might not be the vibe for a sports event.

Now, for the BEST PART. Your lashes need to stay lifted even if you’re screaming your heart out at the scoreboard. Sports events are the time to pull out your most bulletproof mascara. I have no idea what they put in it, but Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara seriously does not quit—and trust me, you don’t want to risk running mascara after a victory cry.

PS: Waterproof is the *goal* here—it’ll hold up sweat, possibly tears (cause emotions *run deep* in sports), and even random rain showers.

And if you want to go big, pop on some Ardell Wispies or any lightweight false lashes that give you that flirty vibe without feeling too heavy!

Step 5: Cheeks & Highlight That Bring the Glow 🌟👏

Cheeks shouldn’t be forgotten! You’ll want a natural flush (like, “OMG my team just scored!”) without going too heavy. For blush, I’m currently obsessed with Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. One dot is all you need, and you’ll look like you have a natural blush all day.

Add some highlight because what’s game day without a little extra GLOW? Tap a tiny bit of Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter onto the high points of your face—so when they shine those stadium lights on you, girl, you are gonna look LIT 🔥. Pro tip: Go for a subtle sheen, not a glitter bomb.

Step 6: Lip Game Strong 💋👄

Okay, lips! The trick here is choosing something that won’t fade after eating all that concession stand goodness (Popcorn, hotdogs… dare I say corn dogs??). The safest option? A matte liquid lipstick. My go-to is Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink because it stays PUT through anything.

For team vibes, go with either a bold lip matching your team color or keep it neutral to let your eyes stand out.

Tip: Stick with matte lipsticks if you want no fuss and minimal touch-ups during the event.

If you want your lips to look a little juicier but still stay in place, swipe a clear gloss like Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb over it. Trust me, your lips will look plump, but your lipstick won’t be everywhere!

Step 7: Set It & Forget It 💦💦

Setting spray is essential, especially for sports events. You need your makeup to last from that tailgate party to the final whistle (and maybe even the afterparty 🎉😎). Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray has literally saved my makeup so many times I lost count—spritz it generously all over your face to lock everything in place.

And bam! You’ve got a look that’s sweat-proof, selfie-approved (because you KNOW you’ll be taking some bomb pics for the ‘gram), and totally in the spirit of the game.

Bonus Tips: What to Bring in Your Game-Day Bag 🎒🌟

Don’t forget to toss these in your bag:

  • Blotting papers or compact powder to blot away any oil halfway through the day.
  • Mini setting spray (just in case).
  • Tiny touch-up brush for a quick under-eye fix.
  • Lip balm because chapped lips = 👎 and tissues for any spillovers.

There you go, girl! You’ll be rocking those team colors in makeup that’s as fierce and strong as your team spirit. Go out there and scream your face off… and still look fabulous while doing it! 🏆💄
